Hit from behind

Featured Replies

Today a lad managed to run into the back of me, While I was stopped letting a Police car through....

Anyway lots dasmage to the Pugeot - broken headlight, bent bodywork, damaged radiator..... but only obvious damage on my Octavia Estate is to the rear bumper:)

Question is, is there likey to be much damage that I can't see - how strong is the estate body?

I had a Nun ( ) do this to me last Thursday, right outside my local dealer! Cost about 400 yoyos worth of damage to the car... A dent in the bumber to be repaired and a respray needed. The back of the octy estate is fairly sturdy alright. Just get your exhaust checked for kinks.

Take the spare wheel out and look at the floor underneath very carefully.

Also check all the seams where the rear centre section is welded in place.

If their car has hit the towing loop under the bumper this can push up into the base of the car and crease the metal and split seams

Did you exchange insurance details, wont the car be checked out through a claim. He hit you from behind so his insurance.

most of the impact is absorbed by the crash bar behind the rear bumper.

A made of mine did much the same thing, but in her 4trak (replaced a Fester XR2i, cos she needed something that could tow a 2-horse horsebox). New bumper and wing for the 4trak, and nowt for the Octy.

Yeah, my Octy Est got whacked by a Disco.... although it did need a new rear bumper and tailgate repairs, not much else considering what a crack it was!
