Poor tickover and kangarooing

Ok I apoligise if I'm making little sense, this is my first car and I'm not well versed in these things.

To start with the problems are when I first start the car in the morning it's ticking over at about 600 rpm, it will improve later in the day. Also when I take my foot off the accelerator the car kangaroos like there's too much engine breaking or something. These problems are always there but seem to be a lot worse when it's cold, humid and/or raining.

hi all seems to be a common fault this cutting out my w reg 1.3mpi felicia has symptoms which are similar but are getting worse the car starts fine idles at about 700 and drives fine but every so often the car will cut out will not start initially but will eventually it doesnt follow any particular pattern but it is starting to be embarrasing as it is only so long you can appear interested in traffic lights showing green but not going anywhere...........help oh by the way i am totally engine bay dull!!!!!! :confused:

Bad news is that there is a short circuit in the ECU which is likely damaging the throttle body. darn it
