What colour do I spray the car

Featured Replies

Wouldn't a non standard colour make the car harder to sell as it makes it obvious it's had a respray.

Given the spec of the car I doubt Stuart ever plans on selling the car. I certainly don't with mine.

I think pearlescent white would look good.

I agree, would be niiiice :D

ANd another one to consider....... MG Rover yellow pearl - as seen on some ZR's

the sprayshop are very keen on a Candy Orange, its something like the Focus ST colour but with a flake in it.

What, like a 99?:)

Personally, I like ARG's metallic version of BRG. Never seen it on non-ARG cars, though.

Lee might need the grill now, along with a bumper, Radiator, headlights, etc etc for the other Octy :thumbdwn: :thumbdwn: will let you know

Not to worry Stuart, I haven't done anything about purchasing this from you having been without the car for the last 11 months! Still I think we are finally getting somewhere now. I am going to oversee its collection next week and subsequent transfer to a new workshop to finally get the engine rebuild finished, it will be the first time I've seen it since the end of November last year! It may be back on the road for Christmas! :D

Back to the colour issue, glad to see there is a bit of a colour consensus out there surrounging a nice sparkly flecky yellow shade.

Talking of metalic green - the green they used to use on jaguar F1 cars was really nice.

Useless fact - They started out with British Racing Green metalic but had to lighten it up becuase it looked awful on TV.

Even more useless fact - The lightening of the Jaguar F1 BRG referred as much to the mass of the paint as to the brightness of the hue.

Useless fact No. 3. They strip back the paint from the car after every race even if the parts can be used again. Because the paint weighs so much (I used to know how much, but now cant remember - must be my old age)

White is the big thing at the moment and you can pretend you are a police car.

All the Police Octy's I've seen are silver....but I stand to be corrected!!

SOmeone on here was sold a white Octavia VRS (non-wrc) that should have been sold to the plod.

British transport police in Birmingham have some white ones.

As DID Cambs... Now they have Navy Octy 2's, Navy Volvos and a few silver things.

In that case, I do stand corrected!

The odd white ex-plod Octy vRS appears on Ebay from time to time - a couple of members on here have bought them I believe.

And some pics of white ones which have been sold on Ex police car sold! - High performance used cars for sale

Just started a new job in Thirsk, North Yorks and I've seen a couple of stickered up silver ones around that area.

Back on topic, another vote for orange for Stuart's re-spray!
