Bluetooth Phone Kits

Featured Replies

I need to get a Bluetooth kit fitted in my car does anyone have any Recomendations? Being Steered towards the Nokia CK-7W is this any good???

Anyone know a decent place to buy from? Think the cheapest CK 7W one so far is approx

From experiance nokia car kits only work with nokia phones.

I went for a sony ericsson HCB-700 ericsson HCB-700

works great:thumbup:

I've been using a Nokia CK 7W in the Luguna i'm borrowing for the last couple of weeks, have to say it's very good, nice sound quality and mic picks up very well without having to shout or talk into it.

It does occasionaly drop its Bluetooth connection to the phone but probably only once every couple of days, and then re-connects itself within a couple of seconds, bearing in mind i'm in the car for 12 hours a night you probably would never have it happen!

Personally I recommend the Parrot Bluetooth Car Kits, the 3200LS or 3400 GPS Version which I run in my Octy and for Sat Nav. Plus they are easily firmware upgradeable for new phones.

Nice Colour Screens and good features, so far I have used it with a Nokia 6230i, SE K750i, SEK800i, Samsung E720, MDA Vario, LG Chocolate and MDA Vario 2 and no problems with any. You can have five partnerships on there all with their own synched phonebook.

At present I use a SE K800i with it for Voice Calls and also connect at the same time my MDA VArio 2 for the GPS & Sat Nav.

I have a Sony-Ericsson HCB-30 that was installed in my car by the previous owner. No idea how it compares to other kits, but it hooked up with my Nokia no problems and I was amazed that the mic picks up normal volume conversation :D

I have a Parrot CK-3100 in the Octy and although the sound quailty isnt quite up to the Sony ericsson HCB-300 I put in SWMBO's car the functionality is amazing and I wouldn't be without it. The only annoyance is that the kit loses its voice tags when you pair another phone but programming it to use the phones own voice tags gets around this.

The CK-3200 is the newer version with colour screen but it overs little extra over the CK-3100 which can now be bought for as little as £80 IIRC.

I have fitted and used Sony HCB car kits, but I find the Parrot CK3000 Evolution I use now better than all of the Sony stuff.

Best thing with the Parrot's is that the wiring is all iso connectors, and even if you have a new car with the new Quad lock wiring connector, an adaptor lead to is available.

Parrot also has a good support forum too.

Evolution just has a small control pad with scroll wheel, answer and drop calls buttons...no display. Makes it more descreet.

Anyway, if your phone is in a cradle with its screen visible, who needs a display for the car kit?

Can it provide power out or do youneed to take power from the fag lighter for the phone?

Otherwise is seems good :)

There is no extra power supply, and as it's bluetooth no hard wired connections for a phone.

The leads for the Parrot go between the car loom (whether iso connectors or the new quad-lock) and the radio, and all is just "plug and play".

Ive had a CK3000 in the fabia for 3 years now... no problems with it whatsoever, and pairs nicely with all the phones ive had, altho they vary in feature compatibility (sonyerricson phones can have specific menus and phonebook syncs)

CK3100 here, main problem tends to be the phone itself rather than the kit. It works for me, there are others who like it, and other that don't :D

Have been tempted to swap it for a newer version and stick mine in SWMBOs car but I dunno if I can be bothered
