I was looking forward to driving it but got out very disappointed - Our Octavia Elegance 1.8T felt a lot more sprightly, in 150 bhp standard trim.

Surely you shouldnt have to learn how to get a car to accelerate quickl? On a dry road, mashing your foot to the floor should be the fastest way to accelerate in any car, especially in an auto where you dont have to think about being in the right gear.

If I can anticipate that I need to make a quick move I do what I would do in a manual which is either knock it into sport (down a gear) or over to "manual" and then down one, by the time you change gear in a manual it is about the same time overall. I have had a cup of tea and am less protective over my new toy now.
