Do i have the worst dealer out there?????

Featured Replies

Here goes i brought new TavRs in dec 03 and since that date water has leaked in to the car from front pas/door the car was booked in for last tues i was told i cauld have a loan car but would need my own insurance i called my insur/comp and they told me i would have to pay

Water ingress on all VAG cars is I think a problem , several cases on here , a forum search for water leaks may be useful .

As for your dealer , if they have scratched your car ,........that just isn't good enough , they must put it right to your satisfaction .......if they don't then I would advise a call to Skoda Customer Care .........although unfortunately we have now lost our personal link with them .

Name and shame that's what I say........

Could you enter something in here?

It's for the benefit of others. Oh and anyone else feel like adding their comments on their dealers would be appreciated. It all helps the others on this board. Yeah I know its a pain, but think of it as a way you can say "thank you" for the info this site gives you and it may just help someone find a good dealer or avoid a not so good one.

I had an ongoing leak on my new Octavia RS, (Hatch hinge area) . From my experience I would.

Give your dealer reasonable chance to fix your vehicle.

If you are still not satisfied with repair and vehicle is under finance advise the Finance company of the problem and ask them to investigate, its their car not yours, and technically they need to be happy with any repair. If its Skoda/VW Finance all the better as its all internal dealings. Inform Skoda Customer service and your dealer of your actiions.

Concider taking car back and hand in keys, together with a letter that you are not accepting the vehicle until the problem has been resolved.

On the Insurance front, I have to use my own insurance. Used to have to advise them but now policy covers coutesy car use as a matter of course.

Are you getting a puddle of water in the passenger footwell? One thing to check - is the vent in the side of the transmission tunnel in the passenger footwell wet? If it is, might indicate a cracked pollen filter housing or (if it's like mine), a drainage tube missing in the wing...

The water was coming into the car through bottom of door card when it was raining i cauld see it comming in.

I went to collect car tuesday morn and the car was parked in the body shop bay the scratch was sorted perfect and i was asked if i had changed front speakers when i replied yes they said i had caused the linner to unseal itself, but they forgot to ask me when did i change the speakers so i pointed out to them it was when i was removing the old units i noticed this problem and not after i had put new units in at all .

They had put paper covers over the carpets and the seat so not to leave any marks this time but the only problem still being is that they have sealed the linner to the door stopping water getting into the car but they have not stopped the water getting into the door so only time will tell i did also ring skoda customer service and told them what had happened and they said they would speak to them over the leaking but regarding scratch if they said they did not do it they cauld not do anything so i said i would sort it myself so when face2face they changed there mind.

Im going to buy my wife a fabRs so they have also lost this deal and because i brought tavia cash i had no finance comp to back me up.

SO STAND UP TO THEM AND TAKE NO SH!!

Sorry to here of your problems Dave. I have no water problems with mine, Water enters all of my octy doors. I think its supposed to happen, thats why the liner and speaker protection is there. Do you know, did they check that the door drain holes at the bottom were unblocked and not full of the wax protection. On new cars some excess wax can clog the holes. If you have a light colour car, after it has rained you can see the excess running down the sills. Mine still looses some after nearly 3 years.

I will have a look and make sure the drain holes are not blocked.

Thanks.
