I dunno, Mil's Falkens are pretty grippy

£1000 dampers!? I'm sure i read they use more like £3000 worth and actually took a hit on every Trophy sold.

Theres a guy down the road who has an Evo FQ340, his wife has a Trophy and i'm very jelous of them.

Evo magazine rated the 182 cup as the best handling hatch ever, then this came along and blew the cup out of the water.

All 172/182 Clio's use the 2ltr 16v engine that produces 172, 182 bhp depending on the model. The Trophy uses the 182bhp engine but is lighter than the other models.

I dont know about the Trophy but Renault actually bench marked the Cup engines to make sure they produced the quoted power, they also had wilder cams and DBW over the 172's engine. I would have thought they did the same and more with the Trophy.

Picked it up today,

Had a OK drive back and then nipped off the motorway and onto the back roads for the last 30 miles.

It is so much fun,it handles so well,Goes round corners and carries so much speed through them with no fuss.

Am very impressed.

Will write more in a couple of days.

Nice buy. Bloody good cars

Excellent choice, I'd have the clio over the DC5.

If you get chance read Evo issue 83 sep 2005, awesome road test of a Trophy and M6 across Europe. The Trophy also came 3rd in Evo's Car of the year 2005 against some serious competition (issue 87 Jan 2006).

Enjoy.

I've owned my Trophy for just over a year now and i am still smiling and use any excuse to go out for a drive in it. I used to run a revod Fabia Vrs which i do miss in terms of mid range punch for lazy overtaking and the great MPG.

I don't think i'll sell the trophy as it really is very special car. Build quality is nowhere near skoda standards but I've had no problems with the Clio so far

Ideally would like to run a fast diesel for work and trophy for weekends if i had the cash.

How does the Trophy compare to your old boxter around the twisties?

The Trophy forum is very frendly ClioTrophy.co.uk

Havn't posted for a while but did say hello to some of the old faces at the Trax meet last month

HIya Nick C,

Have registered on ClioTrophy.co.uk already and look on there everyday.

Very quiet as you'd imagine compared to the hustle and bussle of Briskoda.

I'm lucky with having the Octavia vRS as my everyday car(running on LPG).

Your right the build quality isn't a patch on either, but once you drive it nothing else matters.

It is just so much FUN.

The Boxster was a Fantastic car,but on a fun scale it dosen't compare.

I'm still getting used to how capable the Trophy is,it amazes me everytime i drive it.

Alex , I notice you have organised trips to the Ring. Will you be going to the ring next year in the Trophy? I've never been but would like to try.

The Renaultsport Day at Cadwell Park last month was scary enough and thats only 2.1 miles with very little run off if you do get it wrong. In fact two Trophys were badly injured that day one potentially terminal.
