BAKER21's SUPERB - MADE IN CZ?!?!?!?

Featured Replies

Away from these threads about mechanical problems, bike racks and warranty issues, I have made another modification, so as always I thought I would post up some pictures.

While at Edition 38 this year I noticed two very clean Fabia's parked next to each other and one proudly displayed a number plate with a 'CZ' instead of 'GB' ?? I asked the owner where he got them from and I have now contacted this company and purchased a slightly different set.

Granted that these will not be to everyone's liking and I have only velcro'd them on currently but what are people's opinions? At the moment they are growing on me but the colour of the rear plate makes it stand out a little too much, or not?

Comments good or bad are welcome.

I think the look good, although the 'font' isn't to my taste - I'd prefer the normal UK spec font, but that's me. :)

Do they meet the reflectivity requirements of normal UK plates? Plod are likely to take in interest if not!

The plates are basically a 'German Style' plate in that they are pressed metal and the font is called 'FE' and I am confident that they meet the reflective requirements, I will find out tonight.

The plod may take an interest but nothing as yet, I will obviously velcro them off if they say anything, LOL!!

Good look, but good luck not getting pulled

Personally not a fan. But each to their own.

cars looking as smart as ever

Looking good, might have to get some myself (different reg maybe...........or maybe not:P )

I thought you had to have your county of registration if showing your country.

I want a Superb... so I can make it look like yours

Are the plates expensive?

Plates look cool to me, two thumbs fresh.

Look really smart Baker. As Ross says, nice and minty.

Legally you don't have to have anything, hence why you can still buy non-GB edged plates. However if you travel abroad then the GB edging means you don't have to display a GB sticker.

Not technically true, you dont have to have anything, but on a GB reg'd car you can only have GB and/or the European Union logo.

As always you are correct and I stand corrected.

Err, perhaps i'm being stupid but you both apear to be saying the same thing?

And it is a legal requirment to display your country of origin in France (not sure about rest of Europe)

What I am saying is you arent allowed anything other than the GB or E/U flag in this country. CZ flags, Badges, names, weed designs arent allowed.

looks mint, baker. not legal, but mint...!

Lummox is right, the beauty of having GB or the E/U flag on your plate is that when you travel within the E/U you don't have to display a GB sticker.
