hmmm well it seems the bag of crap has started working again. ill investigate avg and get shot of norton...

cheers lads

How about Comodo (firewall and free), getting good reviews and very secure coupled with Nod32 (pay for AV, but excellent reviews with plenty of updates, quick scans, very configurable and it's own excellent support forums).

Multi layer protection is better than one for all products.

Yup, Norton suck! I use AVG+firefox(java script off)+firewall at router.

Yep agree norton not very good.I use F-secure got it free from work.Perks he he

I'm due an upgrade on Norton, but I'm not going to Think I will go with the AVG. Is it worth getting the free version or paying? Also what about spyware? thanks.

Had renewed last year with Norton on my laptop as there was a special offer, not available this year and the renewal was a tad pricey. I have used AVG on my Desktop for a couple of years no problem - so have now jacked in Norton on my laptop and installed AVG .... reading this post made my mind up as my renewal was due.
