Fifth Gear

Featured Replies

Just finished watching fifth gear.

Does anybody else find the new presenter of the show very annoying and a bit of a tw*t

Or is it just me?

5th gear?

more like reverse.

its a waste of half an hour of my like. I gave up on it 1/2 way through last series.

Yes. He is a B3llend.

I thought the whole program was dross.

VBH is a **** too. What is her purpose? The way they try and force any on screen chemistry between her and captain cardboard is cringeworthy. Last series was better. This one is s h i t, pure and simple. T

They have mullah'd the show. it used to be entertaining with Tif and Plato do the business on trips to Moderna etc. plus the circuit shoot outs but thier general abscence plus the prats that have been hired to fill in have made the show something of a waste of time. Why can't the producers show some imagination after all with groups like this on the web there is plenty of 'alternative' stuff to put into a motoring show. I for one would love to see a mod shoot out between a heavily moded Fabia vRS say and similar Mini.

They did that test last series I think. The thrust was can a diesel be a hot hatch? The mini won I think but I was surprised how close it was. A modded Vrs would be different though.

I also disagreed heavily with Dillan on the cool cars. He went down the tabloid route when backing up his 'theories'. He lost credibility with me. And I'm sorry, Bentleys ARE common.

Nice but Dim Tim Lovejoy, Never found him funny on Soccer am, when I saw him on this havent watched any after prog 1, AND have seen an ad with him on a Chat / interview show.

He is complete and utter [ insert own expletive here ]

I found there was lots of poor camera work, coupled with dodgy blank moments where the editor failed to ... well, edit. Overall I think the new presenter ruined it big time and the idea of setting the episode in the cafe was just horrible.

This used to be a show that gave normal people normal review of sensible cars, and now its lost its focus.

Overall very poor and I will not watch again.

The general consensus is that the whole program is pants, so it is not just me I am glad.

Its supposed to be a motoring programme why are they spending time on doing off the topic things like smash my ride and other such ******s are there so few cars on the market to review, saying this I think that it applys to Top Gear to a certain extent. I want to watch cars not items about all the other ****.

It seems to me that they want to be a dummed down motoring version of "Brainiac"

If it's possible to go that low.

(Or an up market Vroom Vroom).

If they carry on in this vein then I think the programme will be pulled.:( :( ,

a pity cos it was good once.:P :P

Yes, but top gear has always been zany and wierd but cool. Filth Gear is just starting to copy it:mad:

Badly:(

I think Plato, Needel and Ford must be embarrassed to be associated with it now. Mind you, I feel so much better now that I know that the plank can do donuts in an electric go-kart

5th gear was outdated when having 6 gears became common place in a lot of diesel powered cars :P Nuff said

Wrong programme mate. That's Top Gear you're talking about. There names are Clarkson, May, and Hammond.

crock of **** - nuff said

Apart from all that, it's good.

What have they done, watched it the other night. It's no Top Gear, thats for sure.

I some times thought that it was better than Top Gear. That is before the present series of course

Me too, I used to watch Top Gear for the humor and Filth Gear for the reviews and down to earth nature

I actually let SWMBO change the channel the other night just as fifth gear was about to start  .

Never thought I'd deliberately miss an episode before this series, it's utter wa*k now.

Hurry up and get top gear back on before we all lose faith in car based tv shows :orb_sleep

It has got worse and now it's an hour long you get four advertising breaks reminding us of car insurance etc.

I get annoyed with Vicky screaming and the fake presenter bonding. Some of the tests and 'driver knowledge' sections are interesting but they try to cram too many items into one show.

Didn't think it could get any worse than last series. But they went and exceeded my expectations on that count

Even the best bit of Monday's show, Tiff in the Lambo, was pretty much ruined by some rather amateur camera work and a cr@p soundtrack drowning out the sound of that gorgeous V10.

I thought Tom Ford's Mini review was pretty decent though, in fairness. They need more stuff like that, it's not rocket science, as we need a more review-orientated motoring program IMO. And less of that bloke trying to do a donut in an electric go-kart - what the heck was that all about?! Their point was?
