End of run Fabia vRS ?

Featured Replies

With the new Fabia seemingly only a couple of months away from launch but the inevitability of our having to wait until mid-2007 and then to only get the cooking versions to begin with, it could be not until some time in 2008 that a successor the vRS is avaiable in rhd. With this in mind shouldn't Skoda make us a run off limited edition Fabia vRS with all the bells and whistles ? I'd like the following (all bits they either offer for other markets or could easily put their hands on)

the 160bhp Ibiza spec engine

17" wheels similar to rally car ones

Large Audi front brakes

strut brace in Skoda green

Heated powered leather seats

climate control AND sunroof

electric windows all round

cruise control

Sat nav

deep tinted glass

possibly the option of DSG

a proper sound system

a special colour scheme maybe aping the rally cars

What do the rest of you think, could we persuade Skoda to do a couple of hundred maybe ? Surely it would make sellin the last cars so much easier - look what hapened with the limited edition Cooper S recently.

If they made one with that spec, I would be banging on Skoda's door tomorrow morning wallet in hand.

A special edition would be nice, but if they do I doubt it will be as "exotic" as the possible version above. If it was like that just think how much it would cost!

Im sure they wouldnt waste the development money on an outgoing model sadly, would be nice though.

Then there is things like type approval to apply for etc.

Of course you have a point but I think it could be done for rather less than you think, I once had true sight of what cars actually cost to make and there a VERY and I mean VERY large margins in most of them. I reckon they could do this spect for under

I appreciate what you are saying but as we all know the car manufacturers are here to make money and I can't see them overlooking that for a Spec. Ed. Fabia.:o

Like I say, if they did I would be elbowing my way to the front of the queue but I can't see it.

Maybe an "Edition 100" or similar would be more feasible. :)

Sat nav, leather and xenons would be a must for it.

Gimme gimme! Where do I sign? Are you the secret mole on here that works for SUK and you're telling us in a roundabout way that this will be made available?!

;)

That's not a bad point actually, joking aside. You never know - stranger things have happened. Wouldn't take much effort/cost I would think?

True enough , but some of the stuff on that list is just a case of bolting on a few bits - stuff that could even be done at a dealers.

What might be even better is the sort of price reductions that were offered on the Octy I VRS at the end. A VRS for under 10k would be cool

They allready do one, along with the Octavia 2, just not for the U.K.

I think that they will do a special edition "black" or something like that. Would have black magic, heated leather, cruise and six cd changer. Can't see anything more exotic than that to tell you the truth unfortunately...

They probably will do a run out model, but it will be a combination of what is currently available as an optional extra, and possibly a different paint colour/different alloys.

(Race blue + leather has been mentioned on these here forums, as an example).

Hope they do a special edition, I'm looking at ordiring in December (for April delivery) and was gonna get leather and ESP...... would be nice if they were included in a special edition!

You're doing well to get ESP and leather for 12k

I just sold my 7800 mile old VRS with ESP and leather for 11800!

I am well pleased with that!

I should think so ! vRS's besides being great to own and run seem to hold their value remarkably well, I'm thinking of upgrading my June 2004 (owned from new) model to one of the last as I don't particularly like the new shape and it will surely be a while before we get the diesel successor to the vRS.

I really hope we get something special for the last cars, please Skoda if you're listening.;)

£11800 is good! I'd be well chuffed at that too  I haven't hammered out figures with the salesman yet, but I'm buying two, one company car for swimbo, sale arranged by me, but paid for with cash transfere from her company, and one private sale for me (on finance) with mine as trade in ('05 model, airbag deactivation option) and will probably be about 65,000 miles by then, I will be very interested to see what I get offered in part ex!
