Creaking drivers seat Octy 1 tdi

Featured Replies

So i have had this problem with the seat for a few months now , and it is getting worse , most noticed on slow , stop ,start ie traffic , every time a creak and its getting worse . Car now done 45k miles in last 2 years , so if and can i take to the dealers and will they investigate under warant , know its for 60 k miles , 3 years , but is the third year still likely to cover this as it is not major mechanical . Intend seeing delaer next week , when some spare time available . Any ideas or comments please . Other than this it has been Faultless.

Most likely the seat base has gone, its fairly common, we had 2 done under warranty, the second just before the 60000 came up.

The dealers are not very fond of doing it aparently as its a bit of a pig to do, they retain your existing cover but replace the inside

I Agree.

The dealer i went to tried greasing it first, then i went back and they changed it, then i had to go back so they could fix up the trim. On the plus point it is ok now.

Could you do this yourself as mine does it but it will out of warrenty now?

I guess you can do anything yourself given the right tools and time, but they had most of the trim out of the side of the car that was effected, including more than just the seat.

hmmm might have to live with it then :D
