VRs knocking noise

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a knocking noise when setting off in 1 gear (you hear a knock knock sound) and also a knocking noise when accelrating in the lower gears some times. We then replaced som bushes (part number 1JO 411 315 D and 1JO 411 316 D - AVS Car Parts - www.vwspares.co.uk ) but that didnt help. Coul it be these that need replacing - AVS Car Parts - www.vwspares.co.uk ???

Have always made sure the wheel bolts are tightened properly, so its not that. Then replaced the non-original 17" rims with the original winter wheels the the sound was gone - I was happy - BUT. Now after two days the sound is there again. The bolts ARE tigtened properly.

I dont know where to look for the fault anymore - any ideas?

The car runs without problems, no steering rattling etc etc.

Whats the problem???

Have you checked the exhaust mounts?

Mine knocks occasionally due to one of the brackets having detached itself from the pipe, which I believe is quite common.

Try looking at the engine mounts. Mine had the same problem.I check everything but fould out to late the engine nearly fell out. The bolts sheared off.
