European champion....but have you heard of him?

Featured Replies

A friend of ours has just won the European championship for sidecar racing but although he won 7 rounds out of 8 and came second in the other one one has anyone heard of the name Roger Lovelock?........he has very little sponesorship but does amazingly well although the winnings are poor as well they do cover some of his expenses.

A great achievment by your mate, however sidercar racing is such a minority sport, especially from a spectator point of view, that it's not surprising that very few people have heard of him and his monkey.

I'm a keen bike race fan, having attended many british race meetings and numerous TT's. Sadly the Sidecar races were always the ideal time to go get drink/food or a good time to leave early.

IMO sidecar racing is mostly a northern sport in this country and has a very small following abroad.

Nonetheless.........as already said, a great achievement.

No, but that's a comment on the utterly hallibut coverage that chairs get in Britain, even up North!

Nope :o - shame really, but a reflection of the lack of TV coverage - I used to enjoy watching it a "few" years ago when they showed it

I think what Lance is saying is he isn't interested in it

Well done to your friend - I'm with Stu, I remember it years back (probably on World of Sport with Dickie Davies :) )
