Silver Pipe Cracked

Featured Replies

While checking my oil just now I noticed a crack in a silver pipe ( think this is the radiator pipe) I am taking the car into the dealer tomorrow because the Engine Management Light is on again ( it went in 2 weeks ago because they was a fault with the lombard sensor). I want know if this pipe is the radiator pipe so I can e mail the dealer tonight and will it be covered under warranty.

If you could be a bit more specific I'm sure we could help. Does your aircon work?

Oh and it's a Lambda or Oxygen sensor.

It is a chrome flexi pipe with white mesh inside it. Air con seems ok. Lambda sensor

Still not very clear for me but i'm guessing it might just be heat sheilding.

Could this be why the Engine Management Lights is on?.

the picture on the right is of an aircon pipe and this looks like a continuation of the pipe shown in picture one , the aircon would not work if this pipe was cracked , so if the heat shielding on the outside of this pipe is cracked not the pipe itself , this wouldn't put the engine management light on , i think you'll have another fault .

The pictures sadly aren't good enough for me to see the location of the item. I'm not overly familier with that engine so I would need to see more o the location of it.

The second picture looks like it's got the gas point for the aircon in it.

looks like we are thinking along the same lines then.

i'm bradfordfabia's twin brother.

the pipe is a chrome ribbed flexible pipe. its connected to the top of the radiator then goes to the bottom of the radiator (i think,i looked earlier today)

the pictures are of my new 1.2 fabia cause his car is outside in the pouring rain and mine is in the garage.

what is it and is it covered under warrenty ?

my apologizes for my brother's lack of brain cells

Thank you Brother for that, he trained as a mechanic on the YTS.:finger:

It is an aircon pipe for sure.
