sorry if this is an old one, i've searched but i can't find!

my felicia (w reg, 1.3 petrol, popular model) has a fully functioning rear window heater.

but!

there's no dashboard light that indicates when it's switched on. i have to remember to switch it off, and i'm scared one day i'll forget, which leads me to:

i. is there supposed to be a dashboard indicator light for the rear window heater?

ii. if i forget to switch it off, does it turn off when the car's turned off, or will it continue to drain the battery?

Yes, there is a dashboard indicator light, perhaps the bulb has gone

and it does turn off with the ignition

i think it is an LED behind the dash panel iirc and not a bulb

On mine, it's the bottom light of the instrument column.

Also, the switch illuminates slightly brighter when it's switched on....although not really that noticeable.
