My online album

Featured Replies

Just got myself a new camera after my old Canon Powershot A70 gave up on me.

Ended up getting a Sony DSC- H5

Just started having a play around with it and have set up an online gallery

Have a look and let me know what you think.

Cheers

I've looked and they are quite good.

If you want constructive criticism...

Looking at the exif you seem to be using the wrong metering for the scenes. With scenery you need the best average so matrix would be better than spot. With the bird shot you want the bird correctly exposed and don't care about the surroundings so that should be spot metered.

If you are using an editing program the levels need adjusting in a few shots as the contrast/brightness could be better. Also when you reduce a picture in size you need to sharpen it again as the resizing causes softness.

Constructive criticism is always welcome, thanks

Is it normal to have to alter the levels like you say??? I would have thought that with a good camera i would not have to do such a thing???

I never resized them myself, it must be photobucket that does that as you upload the pics. Could i sharpen them before i upload or should i resize, sharpen then upload?

Some of the photos were done using the landscape mode on the camera so i will check to see what i can do about the metering when using that mode.

I am happy with the macro shots though and intend to do some more:thumbup:
