Lightweight Battery

Featured Replies

It's looking very likely I need a new battery as mine was flat after only 1 day of not being used (and my car is in an attached garage so doen't really get cold), also it's been on charge for 24hrs and still isn't reaching a fully charged state.

So the point is as I'm probably buying a new battery anyway should I get a lightweight one? If so which one and where from? Any advice appreciated.

lightwieght batteries are available from demon tweeks and they are really expensive, but to be honest it's probably not worth it..... if you want to shed some weight just throw your spare wheel away!

Or go on a diet. :D There are better ways to lose lbs without losing to may £s :D

Eddy, just buy a good battery. With winter coming you will need it.

I'd pretty much decided to do as advised, was just thinking it may be worth doing if there wasn't much cost difference.

Anyone got some example costs? And example weight gains?

And example weight gains?

Dont you mean loss ;)

the lightweight batteries start at around 120 squids depending on make.... the varta ones are quite good.

and it will be ok so long as you dont plan on using your stereo/rear window/air-con/wipers/lights/etc/ anything else electrical......

That contradicts what I've read, there are plenty out there sufficently rated to work as well as the standard battery. If it was just lower capacity then it would be smaller without being more expensive. Prices seem to start around
