Skoda lx 1600 2002 instrument panel intermitant fault

Featured Replies

I have recently purchased a 2002 petrol skoda saloon lx in green. Bog standard with non of the modern frills etc.

I find it excellent on fuel, and a good car, except for a new anoying fault that has developed.

yesterday I put the key in the ignition and drove off, only to find that the Speedo, odometer, and fuel gauge, and temperature gauge were registering zero. I tried yanking out the 5A fuse (F11 mini type) and it checked OK. Periodically all the needles would flick over and start to register mormally.

I then took the car to visit a relative who is currently in hospital, with the needle indicators on zero, but all of a sudden they all started to register once again.

Does any one out there have any ideas, as to what common fault can effect the speedo, odometer, fuel gauge, and temperature gauge, all at the same time?

I would be most grateful for ideas. Thank you.

Hi Denis,

Old and bold just like me.

Thanks for your e-mail reply, and especially the attachment URL, by JCT about the throttle body wiring.

It is food for thought, and I will dig out the haynes manual again.

Kind Regards
