Lack of ooomph in Vrs

Featured Replies

Suggestions or advice needed please.

In my standard Octy Vrs. When I put my foot hard down in 2nd, I can hear the turbo noise and then it appears to get quieter around 3000rpm and the power seems to die off a little. if I then lift off the gas and reapply it seems to pick up again.

If i feed the power through gently it doesn't seem to creat such a problem and there apepars to be more power. Haev I got a problem or is this just a characteristic of a turbo charged engine.

Thanks in advance. SC:cool:

Just in second gear?

I recognise your symptoms - I find that it is more noticable in 4th gear on my vrs. In going through the gears I quite often find that I feel a stronger surge of power if I dont floor it. I dont know what could be the cause though???

Do you know anyone with VAG-COM or other suitable diagnostic tool near you?

I suspect they may find a 17705 fault code indicating a boost pressure drop. In your case it sound sliek it could be either a simple boost leak or the diverter valve that is at fault.

A diagnostics check will provide significat clues though.
