VRs values falling

Featured Replies

The Fab VRS does still seem to hold its money quite well. Its better than most with the exception of things cars like a new Mini

Just had a look at Autotrader and it appears that prices are starting to fall - there is now an 04 with 18k miles up for

If I had money to burn, I'd buy new, but in the real world, I like the fact I can buy a much better equipped/bigger/faster 2nd hand car with the same money. I agree about the risk of not having a warranty, but of all the cars I've bought this way, only one has really cost me anything to fix up and that went after a year and a bit of ownership!

This is the biggest error there is when it comes to part exchanging cars! He may offer you a fantastic part x price for yours but what about the price you could haggle down from the new car?

No the correct way to work out what deals are the best is the total cost of the upgrade, this way one company who may offer you very undervalued price for your car may overall be cheaper for you to upgrade than the best offer.

Remember these are sales men giving you a good offer makes you feel great and will help in taking the money off you.

No question buying a car for cash you can haggle the best price - due obviously if he has your cash hhe can earn interest on that rather than have it invested in a depreciating asset which may take months to shift/take to auction.

Welshy dear boy you are preaching to the informed. I am also a sales manager and run a small dealership of my own. I was merely stating that he had offered a fantastic part ex price and this already includeda 5% discount on a new car and three years free servicing:thumbup:
