Outlook 2000 SR-1 problem

Featured Replies

My email shows "Unable to display this folder" when i look at my inbox, all of the other folders are fine and I can copy the contents of my inbox into another folder and view them there, any ideas IT peeps?

Cheers

Derek

Dont think that would work, as it looks like Derek is connected to an exchange server...

Yup, Gave it a try and no joy; thanks though!

So do I have to contact the IT bods at work to sort this out?

I am moving from this post on friday so I may just grin and bear it :D

Yup.. corrupted mailbox should keep your IT muppets busy ;)

I had a quick search and found this not sure if it of help.

"this issue is due to the corrupted .ost file, if you've configured Outlook

clients to use cached mode. To solve it close the client and delete .ost file

and then reopen Outlook again. You should be all set for a while...."

See more @: Unable to display the folder. The Calendar folder could not be fou

Your IT Support must be really bad if you come to a load of car enthusiasts to help solve the problem first!

Steve

Its the OST file, have seen this before.

Close outlook

Search your C: drive for *.ost and delete it (usually c:\documents and settings\username\application data\microsoft\outlook). you need to search hidden and system folders.

Restart outlook, when prompted for the location of the ost file, either click ok to create a new one or cancel to never use one again.

Not really bad, but really strict ;) I have some spam in my mailbox that probably caused this so trying to avoid drawing attention to myself. Still, only 3 days left to persevere the way it is then I start a new job with a new PC and a new email addy so I can forget about this one :D

I cant find that .ost file, is it a possibility that it's located on the server or have IT just wrapped it up pretty tight ?

Nevermind, not long to go, :D thanks for all your help:thumbup:

Think the OST is in a hidden folder by default..
