The London Ambulance Service Air Ambulance (HEMS), as seen in the TV series Trauma, have ditched their fleet of Subaru Impretzas that are used to respond to calls at night, or when the Helicopter is offline, with several racing blue petrol Octavia VRS hatchbacks (Photo to follow). Hmmm...? Tanking across London without having to worry about the Gatsos' and getting a friendly wave from thr Traffic Cops!!

Saw one parked up in Leicester Square the other day all stickered up, looked quite good.

This was at MPH Show 06, and happened to be the only Skoda I saw there.

Unfortunately not the VRS at the moment VRStu. The cars are manned by a Trauma doctor and Paramedic, with the Paramedic doing the driving. You have to apply for 6-9 month secondment to HEMS and spend some time on the whirlybird and some on the car, but they only advertise a couple of times a year and as you can imagine, spaces are sought after. I'll have to make do with a Mercedes Sprinter of a Vauxhall Zafira.:thumbdwn: Until my drive home anyhow.

And of course you have the best colour!!
