What VAG bits can I pinch?

Featured Replies

Hi all, about to collect my 04 Superb this weekend.

I already have my 18" RS4 alloys, PD 20BHP+ Chip and Wolfsburg edition badges ready to go straight on but was wondering what VAG bits belonging to other models (eg Passat rear lights) will go straight on. And has anyone seen a badgeless grille that i won't need to sell my right leg to buy?

Lets wake the world up to the tune of the modded saloon.....the hot hatch is dead!:D no offence fabia boys and girls!!

Ben Welcome to Briskoda.

Don't take this the wrong way but my first reaction is why buy the Supurb if you want to make it look like a Passat?

It's a skoda so it wouldn't be a Wolfsburg edition.

Seems like you have some ideas up your sleeve then mate but I am pretty confident that the Passat Rearlamps will not fit the rear of the Superb.

Grille's are expensive and IMO they don't look good at all and there aren't many people on this forum that have changed their grille for you to have a look at.

I have fitted a fair few bits and pieces to my Superb so you may wish to have a look at some of the threads on this forum.

May I ask how old you are buddy?

Hi

I'm not trying to make my Suberb look like a Passat, far from it and i know that they don't make a Wolfsburg Passat or Skoda, but i don't like the green badge, blue and green just don't mix, if i could get a monochrome Skoda badge then i would.

Mine is an 04 plate with the older rear lights and i noticed someone selling the Passat lights with the twin circles on ebay and thought they would look nice, which made me wonder what other bits and pieces would fit. It is also a lot easier to find aftermarket parts for the Passat than it is for the Superb.

To answer your question Baker21 i am 29 years old, an ex-boyracer who has slowed down and now has a family but i still have a sense of style and know that an understated clean look is always the way to go when modding a car.

I know that the Superb is a suberb car(excuse the pun) but that doesn't mean you can't improve on perfection.:)

Yeah sorry Ben I didn't mean to be rude I just got the initial impression of trying to stick bits all over it and take away the identity of what, as you say, is a cracking car, in probably one of the best colours.

Have to keep us up to date with the changes you make.

Welcome to Briskoda

Don't worry VRStu i didn't take any offence, just didn't want you guys thinking i'm going to be sticking loads of tacky plastic bits all over my lovely new car.

I'm an ex-VW/Audi salesman and know that this is the best saloon car you can buy for the money and after having a few Passat company cars i can quite safely say the Superb interior is better and i can't wait to trade my A4 in and collect it.

Where do i go to look at your cars and where can i post my pics?

Thank you all for the warm welcome!!

You can post your pics anywhere on this section mate or if you become a 'Freedom Member' you will get access to other areas where you can post some pics of your ride.

I assume you know how to host pics?

Hi Ben

Welcome to Briskoda. And welcome to the heady world of running a Superb.:)

I love the Nightfire Blue, and I think that your 18's will look great. Look forward to seeing the pics.

As has been said, Baker21 has successfully made quite a few changes to his Superb, so have a look through some of his threads.

All the Best

Chris

Welcome to the forum fella!

you CAN get monochrome skoda badges, as fitted to the Favorit and early Felicia. Even the early Fabia had monochrome badges! Have a word with your local dealer!

Hi all, about to collect my 04 Superb this weekend.

Wolfsburg edition badges ready to go straight on

Get Modding m8:thumbup:

But Wolfsburg is a German city not Czech

Passat lights will not fit your Superb as the bottom of your lights are curved where the passat are straight. So you will have a gap at the bottom of the passat light cluster.

Regards and welcome.

and how much of the superb is made there?;)

I can't help it that i don't like the Skoda badge, i normally debadge all my cars and if i could afford to get this one filled and sprayed i would, but the kind people at VAG decided to drill some holes in the boot!:(

I like to be a bit differnet too, how many Superbs do you think have a Wolfsburg badge?

Being different is cool mate so you go ahead and do as you wish.

There are no holes drilled on the boot of the Superb for any of the badges, they are all adhered on and will come off no problem, I have de-badged my rear (as have others) but leaving the Skoda badge, I assume you want to achieve this look:

Oh matey, you have made my day, i thought i read somewhere that someone had to get it filled and painted.

Whats the badge you have on the side of your bumpers, i havent managed to find a close up and i've looked at quite a few pics of your motor and i think it looks bloody nice, i will have to get mine dropped at some point, what kit did you use and how much was it?

I think they are lights, like on a Volvo.

P.S. Welcome to Briskoda.

If I remember right those things on the bumpers are small running lights he has fitted

Yeah now you mention it and looking back at the pics, i think you're right, not sure if i like it but i bet it looks damn cool at night!

They are indeed LED Side Marker's that you wire into your side lights, not everyone's cup of tea but it's a big safety thing and all cars will have them on before long, just like Volvos and Jaguar's.

Just had some of the guys on here complete some 'photochops' for me but it's all money that IMO isn't a priority at the moment, besides I am not fusses that it has a Skoda badge on, you would be surprised how many heads my Superb turns as they have no idea what it is even with the badge on, LOL!!

The suspension cost me around

I git my rear debadged similar to Baker21's and kept the Skoda badge. I've followed the same route as Baker21 with coilover suspension, except he paid the extra to get a better setup (gets paid more than me) and I opted for the V-maxx setup at £300 (+£120 fitting). I'm also running 19's with 235/35/19 rubber.

You've probably seen posts by me and Baker21 before, but if not, here's some old images. (Baker21 running with new rims and I've got smoked repeaters and debadged now)

Nice to see another Nightfire blue....I'm a 30 year old ex boy racer that too had to slow down....but there is one in there still.

I've still got no mods but love my 2.5TDI.....it whips a lot of ***!!!!!

The Fabulous Baker boy has the best mods as you've already read....bit of a Soup guru!!!!

Welcome along anyway:thumbup:

P.S What model is it you have???? I'm gathering its the 1.9 PD???

Hi 20VLIL

I've got, i mean i will have as of Saturday, a 130 TDi Comfort on an 04 plate. I have taken my RS4 18's off my A4 and they will be going on it aswell as a 20+BHP chip to start the mods off.

I'm an old mk1 & mk2 Golf Gti fan and was running NOS 10 years ago but now its time to be more civilized and hopefully give my new friend Baker a run for his money.

It's all about clean lines and small changes. The mods no-one has done!!

It would be nice to have some sort of gallery for people to display there motors, is this a freedom feature?
