Auto-scan only scans section 1: engine, then stops

Featured Replies

Any way I can make the auto scan read through the whole diagnostic system, and not stop after doing the engine, please? :)

Dont press any buttons and it should continue. IIRC it stops if you move the mouse or something else grabs the focus.

Nope, it definitely stops - it used to just carry on. Not sure if I pushed stop for some reason a while back, but now it only does one then it displays results with options of "back" and to scan again.

The file autoscan.txt will contain the line:

6Y,Skoda Fabia vRS,01,03,08,09,17,19,37,44,46,55,56,76

... or something like it for yours. If you edit your '6Y,Skoda Fabia ...' line to put 01 at the end instead of the beginning, it should test the engine last.

I will check. Its possible it might ONLY have 01 in which case I need to add 03,08,09,17,19,37,44,46,55,56,76 as applicable.

Hmm strange - I'll try to do a scan sometime soon, my laptop is at work & my private one is broken :(

I'm using the full VAGCOM lead with CAN bus support.

Are there any other programs running?

  • Author

Nope - this was tested on the infamous "dropped a PD engine on it" laptop - works fine but for the smashed screen.... It just stops scanning after doing engine 01. I'll do the txt file thing next time I crank her up. :)

Which version of VAG-COM are you using?

  • Author

I think it's 3.01 ??? To be honest I can't remember. Using serial port cable though.

Then please double check and tell us exactly which version you are using.

I think he's using a licensed version with a genuine cable.

Perhaps a cable tie has come loose, jason?

Can you scan other modules manualy?

Actually one cable tie did snap at the weekend....

 - Phil was right :D

Had you twin-cable-tied it you'd have been just fine :P

OK, this is off topic, but thinking about all the cable ties.

One keeps my FMIC pipework from drooping down near where the SMIC was

Two keep the lpg regulators attached to the strut brace

A "few" tidy up the lpg rubber pipework

One holds my PAS pipework away from the very hot., very wide race downpipe

Must be more....
