Octavia Mk1 Tdi 110bhp Performance

Featured Replies

Evening all,

What is the maximum possible Bhp that can be obtained from a 1.9Tdi 110Bhp engine? And what would it entail?

Cheers guys.

JJF.

People have had these remapped at Jabbasport and got just over 150bhp on their rolling road with no other mods.

Personally I think their rollers are optimistic but 145 should be realistic.

If you want much more then you'll need to spend more cash on other stuff.

As Dr Z says, 140 to 150 bhp with just a remap; I'd reckon on 180 to 190 with a 130 turbo and intercooler, plus the remap.

Hmmm, Hmmm..

Damn that slope, it it oh so slipper and now I'm tempted by that and a set of FSD/Eihbach now :S

Go with the slide... at least you know this car. If you get something else to play with it will bound to have loads of other things that need fixing....

Ours gave 164 at jabba after Michael worked his magic so Im guessinh 150 at least is guaranteed. If Moneys tight just bear in mind that remapping will shorten the clutch life so also dont push the torque too hard, from memory ours was just under 400 n/M.

Again the 130 Turbo & Intercooler is a good next step. After that its hybrid turbos, bigger jets, different exhaust & higher figures can be achieved but then the bank balance really starts to take a pounding.

Further thought on this; above ~200bhp I think a "law of diminishing returns thing" cuts in, and whilst you can still achieve more peak power from a 1.9 or 2.0l diesel, you're about on the limit of the peak torque you'll can get, which is surely more relevant to UK road driving.

Ok then, thanks guys.

I'm getting tempted. What would be the best place to get a 130Turbo, bigger injectors, etc.

Would it be a scrap yard or better new?

Kindly advise the best places to get these parts and an indication of price.

Thanks

For good advice on tuning diesels as well as asking questions here chat to the tuners, ultimately you will need someone to map the car & its worth getting your chosen mappers advice before you go to far.

Allards seem to be pushing the Diesel tuning a long way following their success racing Golf Diesels but you will be looking at big money for big power & you will also need to spend a few grand on the handling & brakes to cope with it

Michael at Jabba is running an old 110 with a 130 Turbo which Im guessing isa great comprimise. A new 130 will cost a small fortune, a s/hand one will I guess be around £200 or possibly less.

Skospares in Poole cars dismantled by skospares.com for all your skospares would be a good place to start looking, theres always flea bay but personallyI would be very wary as theres an awful lot of rubbish being sold

Ooh good, a non-PD thread

does the above info apply to the 90bhp tdi too?

engine code AGR

gearbox DQY

although mine has rear drums,

so probably not a good idea to get too carried away!

cheers ... darren

  • 1 month later...
