Morning all,

Just a couple of quick questions for the 2.0tdi owners;

- How smooth does your car run (i.e. any lumpiness/rough idling?

- Whats the gearchange like e.g. 1st to 2nd?

Overall I'm pretty pleased with my car (great on the motorways) but it does 'miss' a little at times (nowhere near as smooth as my wifes new Fabia Vrs) and the gearchange clunks from 1st to 2nd.

Going to book it in tody to get looked at but interested in others experiences to help avoid the usual answer of "they all do that" or "its a characteristic".

Engine is smooth for me, got the DSG so cant comment on gear changes

I've only done a few thousand miles so far, but there have been times when I thought the engine missed occasionally at low revs, although when I turned the radio down to check it didn't do it again.

My 1st - 2nd change is fine.

Out of interest does the superb come with a six speed gearbox like the 2.0 litre octy?

havent really noticed any problems with ours . Its a fantastic car except for when the DPF throws a Hick

Only other thing Ive noticed is a slight rattley sound if you change down slowly & the Engine revs have dropped a lot before you let the clutch up, our 110 tdi certainly dosent make the same noises.

Like the car apart from the problems mentioned which are not severe....just want it to be right.

I have one of these, and the engine seems fine to me, done almost 10k now since June and yes it does have a six speed box.

With regard to 1st to 2nd, mine is a bit sticky when the engine and gearbox is cold, but fine when warm.

Not sure if this is relevant but my 2.5TDI clunks a bit changing from 2nd to 3rd regardless

Mines a 2.5 and is a little clunky between 1st and 2nd, especially when cold.

hi there..talking of the 2.0tdi superb........what engine code is on your cars? mine says 103kw BSS.... are yours the same? just wondered if they improved the engines since they were introduced

My 130 PD is the same, a little clunky when cold but fine when warm. My mates is the same and his is also the 130PD, mine 05 plate his 53 plate, both with similar millage on them. As for the mis, mine seems fine.

My 2.0 is fine, idles quieter than the Mercedes E300 I got rid of. Only problem with 1st gear is not to over-rev when moving off.

Inded but yours is an Octavia and not a Superb, different engine and the Superb doesnt get DSG.
