just posted thread in wrong area (just been told by nice person) does anybody know if gearbox is a common prob on a 2002 vrs and which exact models of vw or audi or seat fit my occy as im skint and hopefully can find a good price (if anyone has one i am interested in buying from you)

Try a gearbox specialist in your area as they can quite often either repair the damaged part or source reconditioned boxes rather than buying a new box.
