Radio Trouble

R reg 1.3 gli

Put in a radio and it only works when the side lights are on and drained the battery...

Any ideas

Please ta Please ta:(

it's been wored up wrong! does it also loose all of the programmed radio staions too ever time it;s switched off??

there is a wire in the radio loom (yellow) which on goes live when the lights are on, it's there for radio which can adjust thier display brightness at night etc.

here is a list on the wiring colours to help you out

1. Red = Permanant Live

2. Brown = Earth

3. yellow = Interior lighting feed

my guess is that's you confused the ISO colours with the colours in the felicia loom, on the back of your radio it will have a yellow wire which might have +12v memory (or similar) written on it, some radios have the provision for joining this to the red wire, if not get a scotch lock terminal and splice it to the red wire

first disconnect the yellow wire from the felicia loom and make sure the bare wire is proberly isolated (electrical tape is good for this! then join the yellow wire on the back on the radio to the red one

Thank you very much....

It works now without the side lights on just waiting to see if the battery holds its charge.

Thanks again
