door lock

Featured Replies

poooooo!!! today the passenger door not only would not open on central locking, but then i could not get the damn thing to open from inside 'solid'

outside with key and snap!!!!! the lock is busted big time, had to yank the key to get it out of the lock........

but!!!!........... now the door locks and opens perfect with the CL... so what broke???

i expect the linkage that joins onto the lock lever from the lock barrel has come off or broken

My Fun's central locking has a day off or two a month. I'm not even joking! It literally takes 24 hours off and works perfectly the next day. The rest of the car functions as normal during this rest period. Any explanations dearest Skoda folks? Are Skoda's really part-organic?

fixed (bodged) the drivers lock. the facelift models are very different than previous. no quick fix..... and ran out of fingers too. very very tight and a lot more difficult than i imagined to get the lock out ..... and worse back in :(

the fix not as sustantial as i would have liked. the lock also lost its spring. so fine galvanised wire now kinda (gently) works for now. at least I can lock it anyway.

whilst inside the door i noted there was tons of gravel in the skin and very obvious signs of surface rust all over the place. not good!! how the hell can that much crap get up the drain holes?? i'm amazed.
