Reversing sensor problem.....

Featured Replies

Cant speak for skoda anymore (not that I did anyhow) but VW have had issues with water ingress into the sensors. New modified sensors are fitted with a little rubber johnny on the back to stop them getting wet.

Is it a factory kit though? Doubt it.

If not then it doesnt have a control unit so donest need to be programmed.

I've found water ingress to the ultra sonic senors is the most common problem.

Hi, is it easy to remove the sensors from the bumper, I would like to try spraying some WD40 (Water Dispellant) into mine to see if it would cure the fault,

VAG disnosed=Short to Earth in one Sensor

Hi, managed to remove sensor from bumper, widen out clips on inside of bumper and pull back inside, then separate sensor from wiring connection, spray WD40 into connection block and sensor connections, then plug and unplug a few times to clean contacts,

Since carrying out above my reversing sensors have worked perfectly, :)

hello PETE1234

This is the first time I hear this. Could a bit of WD40 spray solve the most common issue of the Superb.

Can annyone confirm this. Why replacing by expensive sensors, of WD40 does miracles????

please inform me
