Rear spoilers..... anyone fitted one?

Featured Replies

Hi there, I've been looking at the Autostyl (

I would have thought that with the crappy stiff boot lid hinges fitted to this car (Thanks again, VW) the last thing in the world anyone would want would be more weight on it.

A mate had a boot lip spoiler from an M5 bmw on his Passat, had to cut a bit off to fit, but it looked fantastic and very subtle.

I know what you mean! In fact, I have just had to give the hinges and stays a good clean and lubrication as they had gone rather stiff but they are ok now! :)

I had also thought about the Audi A4 spoiler (not the latest model) as the boot looks very similar. The Audi spoiler is neat and not too OTT.

Hi there, I've been looking at the Autostyl (Škoda*Superb fotogalerie) rear wing spoilers and was wondering if anyone has fitted one of these to their Superb? The offer two - one is described as a WRC spoiler and looks quite large; the second is similar in design but not so big or tall. The prices on their web site are not bad either - about £70 for the WRC and £53 or so for the smaller one, both plus shipping.

Any comments gratefully received.

Personally I wouldn't go with any of these spoilers as it looks far to 'Wings West' to me...... I would go with the M3 spoiler style but I believe that Skoda sell an OEM spoiler just like this, and IIRC someone on this site has it on their Superb?

I had a boot lip spoiler on my old A4, it was very understated but looked very smart, i think its the same kind of thing the new beema's have only a couple of cm high. I might see about getting one for my Superb.

Hi, the boot lip spoiler definately looks best, been tempted too but its getting it sprayed up, dont mess with a BMW or A4 spoiler there are quite a few passat boot lip spoilers on e-bay ranging from £30 - £50 which look smart, the best i've found thats on a facelift passat is on the following shortcut eBay.co.uk: VW PASSAT TRUNK LIP SPOILER (item 130056470882 end time 16-Dec-06 21:22:20 GMT)

sod it just bought one, price just too good

I bought the same one that bryanp has found on ebay for my A4, it looked really good but it's made of a flexable black rubber and would be a real bugger to paint. My Audi was black so i didn't need to paint it. Has anyone seen a ridged lip spoiler that can be painted before it goes on the car?

Hardly seems worth it for over

Well, that created quite a bit of discussion!! I tend to agree that the car looks good as is, but I still feel a subtle spoiler, as on the Audi A4, improves the look. The WRC type look ok on the right car but can be useful to stand a cup of tea on! The Skoda after fit accessory does not do anything for me - it doesn't look as if it belongs and is well overpriced!! I expect I will leave mine alone...... for now! Thanks for all the replies.
