Octavia vRS mods and warranty

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I've been thinking about making a few tweaks to get a bit more out of my Octavia vRS but I've always been a bit cautious regarding the car warranty.

I'm looking at fitting:

Bailey DV30 from Jabba

Replacing the turbo intake hose, probably the with one by Forge Motor Sport

Replacing the standard exhaust with a performance system (Milltek seem to offer a good option)

And finally a Jabbasport chip.

Insurance is not really a problem, but warranty is. I've never had much look with previous cars (especially Peugeots) and the Octavia vRS is the first car I bought from new. Although I have had a couple of small niggles, nothing major, these have all been sorted under the warranty and I don't want this to be affected. The car is coming up to 2 years old, and I know I'm probably just being over cautious.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

cheers

Most dealers are pretty good about mods - that is, if something which goes wrong which isn't related to a mod (ie. fit aftermarket dumpvalve and then the central locking breaks), they are more than happy to carry out the work under warranty. If something breaks as a result of a mod, it's at their discretion whether it's a warranty job or not - chances are it won't be done under warranty though...

Rob.

I'm going to wait until the warranty has expired. I have one year left like you, and by then Jabba will by OBD remapping experts.

Me too. But month and a half to go.

I'll be exepcting calls for a group buy then. ;)

Check out the Group buy sections for the latest offers I have found for everyone.

or just remove the mod before it goes in to be fixed thats what i do on the clio lol

Same as what I done with my clio as well. I did forget to take my pipercross viper of once, but they never said nothing. Mine you they can't say my alarms ****ed because I fitted an induction kit.

nope they never said anything about the decat and 70mm exhaust on mine either on any of the times its been in
