Octavia vRS 4x4?

Featured Replies

This may seem like a daft question to you guys, but I am new to Skodas.

Are all of the Octavia vRS's 4 wheel drive?

Thanks

No the vRs's are FWD only.

On the older octavia you could remap a 4x4 to be similar power to a RS. But having had both, the RS is quicker based on weight and transmission losses. However the 4x4 was a more secure drive.

The new octavia range I hink s slighlty different, but I'm not up to speed on what the 4x4 options are now.

Cheers all.

I am thinking of getting a 1.8t RS estate (approx 03 plate). I was talking to a friend last night and he was of the opinion that all RS's were 4 wheel drive. Anyway that is now answered thanks for your help.

I've got an 03 plate vRS estate. Nice car. In Std form the fwd just copes with 180bhp. Gonna be fun when I get it re-mapped.

on the mk1 the 4x4 is pretty much the same engine wise yet different trim wise etc. it has higher spec in places and lower spec in others. if you were to have a search the differences have been listed before, if you are thinking about half serious modding power wise then i'd say get the 4x4 if not then get the vRS as its a much sportier package as standard.

don't forget the 4x4 is higher up suspension wise than std and the vRS is 15mm lower than std. So the road holding is very different

Yes but one of the first ports of call is to "sort" the suspension on all models.

This will dial out the differances between the 4x4 & vRS ride heights.
