Octy MK1 - All Turbo'd ??

Featured Replies

Hi all. Been looking for a while to swap cars for the Octy VRS.

Apologies for sounding like a bit of a plank here, but are all Octavia VR's turbo'd or not? I see many ads, but some say 1.8T and some just say 1.8. Is this just laziness on the advertisers part, or are there non turbo versions of this?

Also, what sort of power output and torque can a remap push these to without any adverse effect to the reliability of the lump?

Many thanks

Belcher!

all Octavia vrs' were 1.8 turbo 180bhp.

The engines can go upto 300 without the internals done but need a turbo conversion.

with the standard turbo they push around 235/245 cant remember what torque that is though

I think the MkI Octy vRS will remap up to something in the region of 250bhp / 260lbft (you will need more than just a remap to see those figures though, exhaust, induction, FMIC etc)

180bhp standard

just remap and your looking at a realistic 215 - 220bhp add a fmic, turbo back exhaust, tip etc and you can push about 240bhp and 260lbft if you lucky being realistic and they stay pretty reliable even atthat output.

if your looking at 300bhp+ then budget for at least 3-4k sadly as you will need turbo/manifold/injectors/fmic/maf/tip/exhaust/airbox/clutch and a few more things i can';t remember off the top of my head.

don't forget to upgrade the brakes and suspension to match the power though :)
