Fabia 10 pot brake kit

With all that stopping power (and weight) over the front wheels, you'll probably flip the car if you do any quick stops :rofl::rofl:

Overkill or what, wonder what size rims you would need to get those bad boys fitted?

My only question would be, when would you benefit from this kinda thing? The TT brakes appear to be doing just nicely, I could imagine 4 or 6 pot even would be better, but 10 pot would be able to lock the wheels VERY easily I'd imagine.

why would anybody want to spend nearly £1800 on brakes , plus you need 17" wheels and tyres also , seems a waste of cash IMO

I think you could argue that with more pots, you have greater control over the braking pressure applied so while you could potentially lock the wheels easily, for the majority of applications, you'd be able to modulate the amount of braking much better.

However, 10 pots on a car with 130bhp or at best, 200bhp probably is overkill!

More pots doesn't necessarily mean a greater likelihood of locking up, assuming that the surface area of the pistons add up to roughly the same as that of the stock set up.

£1800 for a top line brake upgrade is quite reasonable in my opinion. This level is only going to really benefit those doing hard track or motorsport use (pads are prob. pretty expensive too!!), but its at a similar level to the brake upgrade I'd love to do to my car (Movit), if I could justify £1800 for a set of stoppers!

I suppose you'd get mildly better control, but then I found the TT ones sufficiently good for me in that regard :) Dont bother with track driving so I wouldnt get near the limits of those I reckon :)

Cost-wise the TT ones were a LOT cheaper, I reckon a good set of Brembos would do just nicely too though ?

I went from 2-pots to 4-pots on the Scooby and the difference in terms of modulation was very pronounced ... a lot more than I would have expected :D Could have just been that the 2-pots were rubbish though

Chris

On the Scooby I could imagine it making a good difference, but let's face it that is more of a performance car than the Fabia vRS ;)

Now stop trying to convince me they are better (otherwise knowing how this tends to end up, I'll end up spending yet more cash  )
