High Quality 17 alloys

Featured Replies

Hi,

I looked through the archives and no pics are left in the alloy archives/thread which is a bit annoying :(

I am considering getting some high quality 17" alloys for my car when I next need to purchase some tyres.

However - not only am I after good quality ones, I'm after some that are lighter than the original 16" ones I have, not wanting to increase the mass that needs to be rotated too much ;)

I am an absolute novice in this regard annoyingly, so my questions are:

* Any recommended brands?

* IIRC it is 5x100 with ET38 fitting I need for the 17" ones, with 205/40/17 tyres?

* My car is in 'black magic' - would be interested to see black/alu ones

* The easier to clean, the better, 5 spoke looks nice. I do 40k/annual and anything at all that helps in this regard is good

I know it is a bit open-ended but some links to sites/manufacturers would be excellent :) Thanks

Check out WHEELWEIGHTS.NET..... I've got some Compomotive MOs to go on mine, not the lightest wheels ever but bulletproof.

Don't go for VW Evolos - awful wheels, heavy, ugly. ;)

Thanks :)

Anything from the Team Dynamics Pro Race series should be up your street - plenty of colour options to choose from too.

Something from the OZ range would get my vote, especially when weight saving is a main priority.

The Superleggeras I ran on the Fabia for a while were quite a bit lighter than the OEM vRS wheel. I think there's a comparision thread somewhere - try a search involving me and 'OZ' :)
