How quick is that then?

Let's just say, "it" now has my power + more than 10%. :)

Around 250 BHP out a Fabia

is it a diesel?

is it a diesel?

Yup - a vRS. :D Saying no more as they PM'd me and may wish to retain somea anonymity. :) Like I say, it's just raising the bar a little. ;)

Bloody hell, I'd be happy with just 180 BHP.

unless he has an LSD and good control of his right foot most of that would be wasted :o

I believe the pd130 will max out around 260ish bhp.

:iagree:

But I don't beleive thats what this is about. Someone has to push the limit, if they didn't there would be no progress!

Don't think it'll be quicker, just more powerfull ;) Nice.

Bye bye Clutch and tyres !!! ;)

more power doesn't always mean more torque. bhp is just a calculation of torque x rpm so if you make your torque higher in the rev range then you will make the same torque but higher bhp :)

Try 570Nm. Thats 90 more than me - 20% more.

430lbft?

nice :)

something round there. Its not the kind of torque I really want to have in the end. As you mentioned above a bit, I'd sooner have the bigger HP and limit the torque to around the 400 mark. At least then I know its within the tolerances of the clutch.

That's a scary amount of torque - would it need some Dutch courage to drive?

430 lbs/ft - do you get a new splean with that too

These are just numbers to me. Will it take off sky-wise? That's the key question isn't it?

I guess you'd need snow spike wheels in winter, but the lift should be pretty good, shouldn't it?

Who said that?

I know what you're getting at, but I don't think that car is even running yet. :)

Dunno what you're laughing at mate! :P

LOL :finger:...............:D

Sounds amazing    - but how come the Allard phase 4 with both uprated PD injectors as well as a VT5 hybrid is "only" putting out 360lbft and 260bhp?

And they've been racing diesels for quite some time now, is that right?

I understand that diesels have bhp rated at a "smoke limit" - the point at which there is smoking - what's the smoke status of the 430lbft monster?

Interesting thread here.....

Cheers
