Dump valve needed with a remap

Featured Replies

Is it definitely needed changing the OE valve with an aftermarket one for a 'stage one' remap? Im just after a simple remap with a standard engine to something conservative such as 210-215bhp. Car has done 44k.

Cheers

Ask the "peeps" who'll do the remap mate.

No point in shelling out if it's not required.

its not a requirement but more of an advisement as the standard DV isn't the most reliable once remapped.

An uprated (Forge) Diverter Valve is recommended as the standard Bosch one isn't much cop.

Forge aren't the only ones on the market although it is what i have on mine :)

I have a Bailey DV from Jabba, works well, looks okay, and is not too loud. A bit more

Looks exactly the same!

;) inside does too :) comes with 3 springs of varying stiffness to suit the individual application.

Who are you guys insured with for the remap? It coming out at a reasonable £800 FC with confused.com but as soon as I add on a remap only 2 will insure me at £350 extra! (Admiral)

Admiral did me the best deal this year with exhaust and map - around

I may have to call them and see what they can do. NCB and age isnt a problem (28 with 6 years NCB) but my postcode here isnt the best which I think is the issue.

OK, you pay the difference and everything will be just fine ;)

I got my valve fitted at the weekend eventually... Works perfectly and very quiet fitted in the standard orientation. For anyone interested, i was sad enough to take some pics of the internals.. :)

Eh?????

Hi fellaz, Im runnin a bailey valve at 246bhp and it sounds luuuuvly, not too cheesy and loud. Works well but a lil resonance when the cars cold but keep the boost down till the car is at full temp. Got traction probs tho lol even with 235 x 19s,

Sly.
