If the car is in the dealer now, why wait to the first of March??????? Is this something to do with the daft number plate system in Britain. We do not have that in N.Ireland which means that we simply go on the year of the car so March rather than Feb would make squat all difference over here.

Your "daft" system has exactly the same effect , just at a different point on the calendar. People will hold off getting a car in december to make sure they get it registered at the start of the new year.

The UK system is daft ,,,, because it has now made cars 'age' quicker than they actually do.... a 3 year old car on say an X plate is 7 reg changes old...

which must have an effect on value...

And now most purchases happen when the year plate change happens..

I'e 02, 03, 04 instaed of 52,53 etc,,, because the car looks 'new' for a full 12months instead of just six...
