Help it started 1 month ago with a quick squeak a flash of red light.

then a few more.

a few days ago I had no central locking .

then today I have had got into the car the o/s wing mirror was fully turned in so I turned it out to correct driving possition then carried on, next glance it was turned in again, all the way home it kept on doing it including 1 squeak this until I switched off the engine opened the door to get at the fuse box I lost all electrics the courtsey light went off and all indicators ie: door open had gone then I started the engine up switched it off and all is well.

I wonder if anyone can shed some light on this beside cranks like saying theres a spook in the car!!!

Hmm. Is there any possibility you're getting water in the car? Is the passenger footwell at all damp?

(I've not heard of water affecting the Octy in this way, but there are occasional reports of the comfort computer in Superbs being drowned by water getting in through a badly-fitted pollen filter)

Convenience unit inside the drivers door perhaps?

Mysterious electrical problems (the really weird ones) are almost always caused by water or an earthing fault. Of course, you may have the best of both worlds - water has run in, shorting some connections (possibly intermitently) and corroding others!

I don't know where the convenience system is earthed but they would be my next port of call. Pull off all the earth plugs (the ones connecting the controller to the chasis) and use a wire brush or sand paper to scrape off any corrosion - both sides of all connectors should be nice and shiney.

If you're au fait with a multimeter, measure the voltage between the earth connector (as close to the actual controller as possible) and the battery negative (-) terminal - it should be close to zero. Anything more than about 0.5 volts and you have a problem.
