New Test Drives section on Club GTI Worcs!

Featured Replies

We have now added "Test Drives" to the Features section of our site. We plan to get out and try out all the new models in VAG group and do some back to back testing too. A future test will be between the Golf R32 and the Leon Cupra R 225. We will also be testing others cars including Octavia vRS and Fabia vRS in the near future.

Check it out if you want to know what we thought of the MK5 Golf....

I'll bet you liked it. :D

It was good yes, but not as good as the R32 I drove after it! ;)

That was so good I went out and bought one!! Pick it up Friday :D :D :D

What Car? Magazine had voted the new MK5 Golf Car of the Year 2004

Right, now maybe i'm missing something here. Are we, or are we not less than 6 weeks into 2004?

How can they name it Car of the Year 2004 when most of us still haven't recovered from Xmas..??

Talk about a pointless award.

As I've said before, never trust "What Car" or anything from "Which?" They don't have a clue.

Photos of the interior look very Skodaish ;)! Anyway lets look at this I am amazed you give it a good review. For over

I gave it a good review cause it is a good car. I did say it was expensive, and that is why I was put off buying one.

It didnt give 100% satisfaction ;)

Hopefully a test drive in the New Octavia will be futured as soon as I can get my hands on one :D

Well I have always liked the look of the golf, except the shape of the interface between rear hatch and bumper in the MK IV (looks like the hatch has been dented inwards. However they have always been over priced. Review after review puts the Focus ahead of them, yet the Golf is more expensive. This is bad as according to Which VW reliability is poor (Skoda average).

Yeah I agree - VW really need to pull their socks up! I have had first hand experience of reliability as my Turbo blewup on the day my car was delivered! Its had only done 50miles!!!

Still, that said, VW did get the car back on the road within 36 hours, with a complete new exhaust system including new Cat., new turbo and new intercooler.

VW are far from perfect, and with the new breed of cars trying to push VW up into the luxury sector, then they need to get the basics right before they go too far.

I don't agree, the Fabia was car of the year 2000, and won best supermini in 2000, 2001, 2002 and is now only beaten by the SEAT Ibiza which is essentialy the same car.

Exactly - if they had any sort of clue, the Octavia vRS would be their car of the year :D
