I know absolutely nothing about X-box 360, but was wondering if a console from the US would run the same format as euro versions? I know that the power supply will be different, but not sure about the games.

No the 360 has region codes on all games so you will be stuffed.

Only console that doesnt at the moment is the PS3

I believe it is , and also the virtual console games that you can download are also coded , with different lists available in different countries

not all xbox games are region coded. check out playasia.com They check all games and some can be had cheap if unlocked.

Some games are region locked and some arn't. check out Buy Video Games for Consoles and PC - From Japan, Korea and other Regions! - Play-Asia.com they mark games as region free if they work on any console.

You could also look at getting the machine modded to play all regions, but for the hassle you will go through you might aswell buy a uk one.

I think most of the games that are playable on XBox Live are region free....... Or that's what i found when i was looking at getting a couple of games for my UK console.

The xbox live arcade games you download are region free, however most other games are locked. If you buy a us console you will need to mostly buy us games as most uk games wont work. Also DVD playback is region restricted so you will have to play R1 DVDs.
