Just wondered if there had been a new ugly tree planted recently that van manufacturers had started to use??? :P Me and the missus noticed how ugly quite a few of the new vans were as we were on a journey the other day...... It seems a few of them are following a similar line but boy are they ugly!!!!!

For example...........

The new Renault Traffic...

The new Transit...

The new VW Crafter...

And what has to be the worst in our opinion.......

The new Peuguet Boxer!!! :eek: :eek: :eek:

I saw the new Peugeot Boxter the other day and was horrifed. I wanted to cover the eyes of small children in cars next to me.

They are never meant to be pretty things, but really that just take the ugly-biscuit.

The peugeot looks ropey but I like the VW and Transit

maybe they have been made ugly so that when they tailgate you, you move over as you are soo scared!

Quite like the look of the Tranny.

The Ford van's not bad either

The local Pug dealer has one of the boxer's on display pride of place at the dealer entrance....... I nearly did an impression of the puking character from Little Britain when i first saw it!!!!! :eek: :eek: :eek:

Out of the four i think the tranny is probably the best of a bad bunch. Glad it's not just us who thinks it though.

The new Crafter is actually a Mercedes Sprinter, built by Mercedes in Germany.

Ugly maybe, but thats all safety design impact imho. The large amount of plastic will be to absorb or bounce people /cars...not pretty, but a sign of things to come.

I like the Transit, it's a lot more distinctive than the last one.

The Traffic / Vivaro / Primastar has been facelifted since that picture.

I've just seen my first Crafter in the flesh and it's not that bad really. Didn't get too close as the builders looked quite comfy as they ate their lunch.

I never knew VW had started making HGV's ...... Not a bad looking Truck though & Looks very Scania like.....

No they're not.

The VW Crafter is made in partnership with Merc, so is almost the same as the new Sprinter.

The Transit is in the same weight catagory as the VW Transporter, and they are totally different vans.

Is that "Veedub" tractor unit maybe a new MAN concept in disguise?

nope its not, its for the Brazilian market at the moment, it was in the UK for some engine development work. It should be coming to europe soon though

It's the same reason why the entire Peugeot range has such massive grilles... Ugly for sure, but I guess I'd be (slightly) happier about being run over by one!
