HID Xenon Kits....

Featured Replies

Alright people calm it down.

MAC - TBH I personally think you should probably specify the make of the kit and supplier as if the group buy is a good discount then nobody is going to get it cheaper for parts of a similar quality.

OctaviaBuzz and others - Ok so you can get cheaper kits, and maybe he should mention the make of the kit so people can compare, but at the end of the day if people know they can get kits elsewhere for less they can avoid the group buy and if they are happy with what they are getting for the price, then well it is up to them if they spend their cash.

I wouldn't as I don't believe HID conversions to be legal in the UK, but that's me.

As for the mods comment, I would guess they are probably at work.

THIS WAS POSTED EARLIER IN RESPONSE TO THE PM I RECEIVED. IT IS SHOWN HERE FOR REASONS OF TRANSPARENCY.........

The following should serve as device to answer the questions of those who are considering this purchase.

ps, i ask not because i am against anyone making a profit, but i like to know who i'm sending my £155 to.

not signing up until i can be confident as to your true intents. esp as you are a brand new member.

kind regards again.

Hi,

The following should hopefully serve as an explanation and is not intended in any way to be argumentative.

If you were buying an item from someone on eBay, for example, would you also demand the name of the supplier ? Thought not.

The reason I do'nt wish to advertise the name of the supplier is simple.

I am currently negotiating with them at the moment on a number of other products (they do'nt just supply HID kits...) and in order to bolster those negotiations I am offering to market the HID kits through this forum.

Now of course I'm not going to reveal their contact details to those who could potentially negotiate me out of the loop, am I ?

In order to give you confidence please bear the following in mind....

1. I have sought and been granted the necessary permission from the moderators of this site (remember, you cannot list a group buy without this first being granted)

2. They have asked questions similar to those asked by yourself and only when satisfied do they grant permission.

3. Paypal is a secure payment method.

4. If you wish to mail your payment you will have my address.

5. I spent three weeks researching the market looking for a kit for my car - these are the best value products currently available.

6. I am not making a profit on each individual kit. This is simply an exercise in building a relationship with this supplier, which may lead to further savings for forum members.

Best Regards, Mark.

This guy is priceless.... “i ask not because i am against anyone making a profit,”

then....

"clearly you have made a deal to buy a job lot from an ebay supplier, with both of you making a profit from it."

WTF ????

“And a join date of Jan 2007 is way suspicious for someone suddenly starting a group buy.”

- is a personal attack on my credibility, so, I'm out.

I'll reiterate.

If the mods have, during their communications with me on this, satisfied themselves that this proposal is above board then only the bitter, jealous, childish or overly suspicious will have a problem.....

Look MAC Just calm down,

It isn't too much for somebody to ask the make of something they are buying is it? Would you go into a store and buy tyres on the basis of "they are the best you can get, not saying which brand".

I'm not having a go, I'm just saying i can see what people are asking.

The comment "I'm not going to negotiate myself out of the loop" suggests that you are going to benefit on other products here and I'm not going to comment either way on that, other than what I mentioned above about the make of the parts.

I also take the view that if people think the price you are asking is too much, they they don't have to take part but at the same time don't need to make it personal.

Anyway please don't let this get personal, as different people have different views on things and that's just life :)

Cheese,

To clarify.....

I've no problem with anyone 'asking the make of the kits' (theres no secrecy surrounding the brand) its just that its good business practice to keep your contacts to yourself. I think a recent group buy on number-plate surrounds did'nt specify exactly where they came from IIRC.

Its interesting you should use tyres in your analogy because many wheel companies do in fact offer a package price which will often include 'four quality branded tyres' etc. and many people dutifully purchase, Its called trust.

BTW The first 'personal comments' made were not from me.

Hope that reply was 'calm' enough for you.....;)

Ok...

I sanctioned this...I'm happy enough with the information supplied to me.

1) MAC this really needs to be the group buy section.

2) If your interested in it...fine. If not no need to post. Simple...no fuss.

3) If you have questions PM MAC directly...not in the thread.

4) Perhaps using a deposit scheme may help people along plus some details of supplier.

5) Please don't resort to quoting what you can get on ebay or elsewhere....if it was that simple why not arrange a group buy?

Finally.....this thread is closed...it's gone past ist's usefulness now. Open GB thread in group buy.
