I own a Octavia 1.8 TURBO 4x4 on a 51 plate. great car but i do have 1 problem with it, the engine managemant light keeps coming on.

Re the problems you have Im not sure where you are in the UK but you might well find some of the tuners who lurk around here might have a better idea of how to fix the problem or map it out

Re the cat

If you dont mind a slightly noisier car a complete sports exhaust with sports cat will cost less than a new cat from Skoda.

theres a few people who have modded 4x4's & might still have the std exhaust, unfortunately Ive sold mine, again that would be a lot cheaper

Try sending a PM to Bengie & EddyH aas I know they have both ditched the stock pipe

i don't have my standard exhaust as it was fubar, thats why i got mine changed and it was lots cheaper than a new system from skoda, only about 1/3 of the price i think.

I'm not sure if I still have my old cats.........I think it might be in the loft above my garage.

If it's off a vRS it won't fit. The 4x4 uses a twin cat setup due to the prop.
