Driver's wiper hitting pillar

Featured Replies

Hi guys - anyone else had this issue? When on constant speed 1 or 2, the driver's wiper arm/blade is hitting the side pillar.

Is there an adjustment that can be made to stop this? I fitted new Bosch blades to see if this would help, but the problem seems the same.

Thanks.

Problems already eh? ;)

I never had this one mine, but hopefully someone will come along with a solution...

My old 200 used to do this. I fixed it by removing the wiper arm and moving it down

a spline ir 2 on the motor, only took a few mins too:thumbup:

Dont konw if the same fix can be done on the fabia though.

Hope this helps.

i would check to see if you have the right length wiper blades fitted

It will most likely be the arm requiring adjusting. When working normally the blades get close to, but dont touch the pillar, so a little bit out and it will hit.

As mentioned, takes 5 mins max to sort. Remove the nut at the base of the arm and then with the wiper lifted away from the screen wiggle it about a bit to loosen from the spline. Lay the blade back on the screen and position it so it sits closer to the base of the screen and replace and tighten the nut.

Mine octy does this, need to sort it.

Yes - this will to the job. One nut on the spindle if I recall. Ours had this one day - don't know why so suddenly, as we hadn't changed the blades! But - it was fixed in five minutes - just be sure to do the nt up nice and tight afterwards.
