what to mod first

Featured Replies

I got my fabia 5 months ago, i love it. now ive decided its time to modify it. what should i do first

remapped

17 oct vrs alloys

lowered

big brakes

i need a bit of help. cheers:thumbup:

better suspension i would say + rear arb

Depends on budget, but I'd go with suspension and brakes first (either will have a big effect) :D

Chris

oh, and keep the standard wheels, wont handle any better on 17's

Suspension for sure. Then the Jabba bar, then your remap.

I did mine all ar$e about face and learnt. Good luck. :D

just remap it rest will keep you amused if standard lol

Id say the jabba rear Arb first...

ive just gone back to std suspension, and apart from the extra bit of body roll, it still tackles corners with commitment

cheers i got about £800 to modify. what effect does the jabba bar have on the car. would u sugest lowering springs or full suspension.

i personally would go for a complete suspension kit rather than just springs on thier own... but i'm sure sombody will disagree with me

but i'm sure sombody will disagree with me

Not me! .......... this time ;)

so how much would a gd suspension kit cost.

would i have enough 4 a remap

Im in the same postion as you, but im looking for a remap and an exhaust, I know the arb and the springs are a must too, but for the needs of that i want to achieve (quicker overtaking on short stright sections of an A road) the power is more important for me for now.

Regarding Springs and dampers, Jabba quote £150 for springs, and £350 for dampers, so around £500 for the set, someone correct me if im wrong or if its cheaper as a bundle elsewhere.

:x

iirc i paid £370 for the koni fsd dampers then about £100 for the koni springs, but there are cheaper alternatives around if you look

Eibach springs filter, exhaust, and remap.

Eibach springs filter, exhaust, and remap.

Don't waste your money on a filter or exhaust :P Sorting the handling will mean you can carry more speed through corners so you'll be going faster when you pull out to overtake anyway. Also remember to budget for a big hike in insurance when you do the remap! Springs and ARB are treated as cosmetic mods by a lot of insurers.... no idea why!

Oh, and Eibach springs and Koni FSDs sound like a winning combination to me ;)

how much are people getting quoted extra for remapping from insurance companies (approx).

It can be a mine field. I had loads of mods done but in the end not the remap as I find the car fast enough! Admiral would not continue to insure me with an FMIC and Strutt brace so I had to move over to Greenlight.

Can't remember the exact cost but it was a couple of hundred extra to include all the mods. Not sure I could afford a remap insurance wise.

Get the quotes 1st i'd say.

does your jabbasport rear arb make much difference.

Probably worth just discussing with your insurer. My insurer was just interested in an estimated power output, but some work on percentage increase bands.

Chris

Chris, I kept having my car's remap tweaked after every modification. Once the Exhaust went on, and the remap was tweaked, there was 'a-lot' more useable power. It was more rev-happy, especially for a diesel. And another plus side, is the sound you get ;)

Jabba rear ARB will give you most enjoyment per pound
