Anyone done a warranty claim on........

Featured Replies

@ Awesome Sarah - I know the keys are not a common problem and that it will be looked in to, but HOW can you say that the answer will be no just like that?

Because if IIRC she used to work in the warranty dept of a local dealer..lol

I'm still trying to get the flip key apart that I got to use with the Ibiza! It's a brand new one and by 'eck it's well put together!

Any tips people? I don't particularly want to wreck the plastic by taking some implement to it. The two parts are supposed to come apart, I've seen graphical howto's, but my hands were black and blue and still no change

Hi , yes I did warranty for 5 years , I have claimed for some really unusual things , including an umberella

I know how the system works and IF it is a claim that is not common they can ask for the part back , if they open it up and find any traces of water contamination , then it will be invalid and the dealers will loose their money

Rain water is a bit differnt from pool water and if they wanted to go in to it , then they will find out the differences

They do do close inspection on alot of parts like this , believe me

It will not help that you asked the question on here , and the DO moniter this site

Sarah

Em, does that mean that Skoda claim that the keys are waterproof under normal conditions, such as heavy rain?
Quite the opposite! The Owner's Manual includes the caution:

Each key contains electronic components; therefore protect them against moisture and severe shocks.
