Has anyone had experience of cleaning front seats ?

Waht about the stuff you buy (Turtle Wax) from Halfords that cleans them ?

Do they leave marks and are they messy to use.

Cheers

I really dont see why you guys are giving me a hard time - It was a geuine question as the passenger seat is wet.

I got that AutoGlym stuff in a kit, it works very well, just spray it on, rub and its good as new:D

Come on mate, we aint giving you a hard time, but if you post a title to a thread like the one you put your bound to be eternally ridiculed for it :D Just look at Emily Elizabeth and her strut brace fiasco

or Harry who rolled his vRS and never hears the last of it.

The moral of the story is this:

next time you have sex, either get some of this...

eBay.co.uk: Dark Smoke Window Film/Tint 20"x90" (item 180077435450 end time 31-Jan-07 21:00:00 GMT)

or this...

eBay.co.uk: SKODA FABIA Heavy Duty Front Seat Cover (item 280074790235 end time 04-Feb-07 14:00:41 GMT)

Can you tell me what that ones called please? :)

Edit....I already have it in my vast collection of goodies.

I've found Autoglym interior shampoo best for cleaning seats. Mist it over the seat and wipe off with a damp cloth. I'm not sure it will get stilleto heal marks out of the roof lining though.:thumbup:

m8 take it on chin

most things will get certain stains out its keeping them clean thats the issue

Autoglym Glass Polish is great for removing footprints off the screen too:orb_bounc :sofahide:

I'm a bit concerned how you all know all this!!!

Jees you think thats a hard time, read a few of Miltons old threads...lol

hehe you did ask for it :p

On topic, after a couple of encounters with my ex, the seats havn't been 'clean' since, and ive tryed so many things to lift the marks. Its not water marks as such, differnt non water soluable liquids ;p

Tempted to just be it properly valeted, £30 and saves a whole load of time and cost of buying the products..

How fast do you rub ?

ROFL - Perv. :p

Webcam/pix or it didn't happen

Especially when you open your window to clear the snow off it, and it all falls in over you, and the light colour cloth seat

I have found that cheapo Tesco's upholstery cleaner is just as good and at a fraction of the price for 'special' car upholstery cleaners.

Now nothing personal here but a solution of bicarb is excellent at removing certain satins, it also help remove odours too. Try after washing with most propietry cleaners if they no use.

Hope this helps but be gentle dont rub too hard

Hahahahaha. Yes, you won't hear the last of it, ever.

I know I won't with the strut brace incident.

I am impressed that you managed to in a fabia tbh, but I am still not convinced it is possible.

i cleaned my seats once.had to take the seats out of the car to get them dried.so i got black seat covers because i couldnt be bothered doing that again.they look ok as the rest of the car is black inside and out:thumbup:

Did what I did when I had my vRS. Pay a decent valeter to steam clean etc, get them back to their best. £25 that cost me. Then find somewhere selling the 3M Scotchguard protectant spray stuff. You can get it quite cheaply if you find a wholesaler, or I may have found it in Costco can't remember. Anyway, after the seats have dried after the steam clean, spray this on. Think of it as Gore-Tex protection for your seats. Nothing will stick to them now ;)

A damp cloth will then sort any marks out after that. Job done

Steve

I took the rear seats out, cleaned them with a bissel hoover type thingy and it went ok, but not great. Then I used some carplan upholstry cleaner, made sure I applied it all over and they look better than ever

Just the front ones now to do :D

Good work, but then again, you don't have the wonderfully practical vRS seats to contend with  - whenever I tried cleaning them, I only succeeded in pushing the marks/dirt outwards, so I was left with 'tide' marks at the edges of the seats!

Steve
